    Hello Friends,

This week was another district work period for Congress. I was pleased to spend it meeting with constituents and leaders in Florida.
Meanwhile, despite Mueller’s report finding no evidence of collusion or obstruction, Democrats continue doing everything they can to beat a dead horse. My staff and I continue reading (and re-reading) the Mueller report, preparing for what will inevitably be extensive hearings, and more fruitless fishing expeditions. I wish Democrats would spend as much time working on solutions to the problems facing America — the opioid crisis, the border emergency, the dangers of ‘big tech,’ building infrastructure, providing disaster aid, and so on — as they spend thinking up new and silly ways to play ‘gotcha’ with the President.
Following up on my recent trip to the border with my colleagues, I wanted to keep you updated on the situation there. Click on the pictures below for a quick video update!

It’s clear that there is a crisis at our southern border. If we don’t implement a solution quickly, more and more people will continue pouring across our border. We must fix our immigration policies, close immigration loopholes, and build the wall!
Finally, America’s economy continues booming. This morning, the Bureau of Economic Analysis announced that our economy grew at a 3.2% annual rate during the first quarter of 2019. This rate, while matching the Trump Administration’s predictions, exceeded market predictions. I look forward to six more years of excellent economic growth for our country under President Trump!

    Academy Night

On Thursday, I was pleased to host our first Academy Night of 2019. I enjoyed hearing from our top military leaders as they instructed Northwest Florida’s high school students about the process of applying for, and earning appointments to, America’s military academies.

Last night, I had the privilege of speaking the Pensacola Christian College’s Political Science club about preserving our freedom, defending our Constitution, and restoring America. I also had the opportunity to recognize the years of service Dr. William Bowen invested in our community. He single-handedly founded the College’s strong Political Science program and has invested his time, insight, and wisdom to help shape our community’s next generation of leaders. Thank you, Dr. Bowen!

    UWF Cybersecurity Center Opening

The University of West Florida has opened a new Center for Cybersecurity for students to research and train to engage and combat America’s future cybersecurity threats. The center will be located in the Student Community Institute in Pensacola. I am thrilled our students will receive high-quality training to break into the workforce and serve our nation. For more information, see this article from the Pensacola News Journal.

    The American Mind — April 23, 2019
    Defend America
“Today, multiculturalism and its politics of identity pose an existential threat to the American political order comparable to slavery in the 1850s or communism during the Cold War. Once confined to graduate seminars and the ethnic “studies” departments at our nation’s colleges and universities, multiculturalism is now the authoritative ideology reigning over higher education, our media and political establishments, legal system, and corporate boardrooms.”

    Washington Examiner — April 23, 2019
USDA must do more to crack down on abusive puppy mills
“What is needed is to double the required cage space so that dogs have room to move, not just turn around, and it should require ground-level, unstacked cages. In addition, the USDA should ban the practice of keeping dogs on painful gridded or wire flooring that can hurt their feet.”
