Florida COVID Liability Protections Bills Filed in House and Senate
    ---Please Share Your Feedback ASAP---

Florida has 5th worst legal climate in the nation and the last thing job creators need as they seek to keep their doors open, employees paid and help relaunch Florida’s economy is a tsunami of frivolous COVID lawsuits. This afternoon, Senator Jeff Brandes and Representative Lawrence McClure filed COVID liability protections legislation and the House Civil Justice Subcommittee has calendared the House bill for a hearing next Wednesday, January 13.

The Florida Chamber has been advocating for commonsense protections for Florida businesses who are doing the right thing by their customers and employees at the federal and state level since the earliest days of the pandemic. We are encouraged by the filing of this legislation and the House’s intent to hear it quickly.  We remain committed to working with the sponsors and legislative leadership to ensure these bills move through the process and to the Governor’s desk in the strongest form possible.

Please review the attached bills (they are identical) and provide any feedback or concerns to Carolyn Johnson at cjohnson@flchamber.com or 850-521-1235.
