FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: New Playground for Autism Spectrum Disorder Services Program at Lakeview Cent
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New Playground for Lakeview Center Autism Program
PENSACOLA (Aug. 17, 2020) – A new playground was built for the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Outpatient Services program at Lakeview Center. The enhancement to services was made possible using funds raised from the 43rd Annual Stepping Out in Style Fashion Show, presented by the Women’s Board of Baptist Health Care Foundation.
The ASD Outpatient Services program helps families and children through the use of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA is a scientific discipline that teaches adaptive living, communication, safety and social skills to children. The new playground provides a safe space that will allow children to put into practice the skills they are learning in a fun, therapeutic setting.
“We are so thankful for our bright and colorful playground,” said Jessi Truett, director, ASD Services. “This playground has given us such a wonderful area to work with our families. The children are able to practice the skills they are acquiring with their families in a safe and beautiful area. Our work here just became even more fun with the help of the Women's Board.”
