By now you should have received a request to respond to the 2020 U.S. Census. Responding to the census is not only your civic duty; it also affects the amount of funding your community receives, how your community plans for the future, and your representation in government. With the effects of COVID-19, the Census has never been more important as we look to getting our economy back and looking to the future. Also, economic relief legislation is constantly changing, and we need to make sure all areas of Florida are properly represented as the Census may impact the distribution of recovery funds.

In addition to economic recovery, business owners and entrepreneurs can use Census Bureau population statistics to make informed decisions every day. From determining where to open additional locations and create jobs, or what type of businesses are needed to serve communities, responses from the 2020 Census will continue to help business leaders drive economic growth.

The Census Bureau recently published a story providing examples of how census statistics can help determine how business owners can best serve their customers. The story also covers specifics on census data and hiring, payroll, and business regulations.
