Here is a link to the Chamber’s Video Update that Monica & I did this morning. We are sharing it with you (our members), posting it on our social and it is also available on the Chamber’s YouTube Channel.
If your business/organization has not made some sort of public recognition surrounding COVID-19 and how your business/organization is addressing it, now is the time.
Remember to let our community know that you have their best interests at heart and that you are adapting to fit their needs. Acknowledge our current environment and share your plans for moving forward. This does not need to be as formal as a press release, but while everyone is unsure whose doors are still open and whose are not, you want to be crystal clear about your operational status. Make sure this messaging is prominent everywhere.
Here are ways to make sure your customers have the latest information about your business:
Change your business hours
If your business hours have changed, update the times when you’ll be open or closed on Google My Business. The hours will show when the customer visits your Business Profile, and they’ll know exactly when to visit. Learn how to change your hours.
Manage your information
Explain whether or not your business operations are affected by COVID-19. You can share information about any extra precautions your business is taking, such as moving to takeout or delivery only. You can also share if you’re providing any extra services to the community, or whether you’re experiencing delays. Learn more about editing your business description.
Create a post
Share more detailed and timely updates about what’s going on with your business through Posts. For example, add information about what products and services you have available, and link to other resources. You can continue to use Posts to directly communicate with your customers on a regular basis as your business changes. Learn how to create a post.
At this time, Google relies on authoritative data sources, where available, to mark certain types of places as "Temporarily Closed" on Google Search and Google Maps.
What's your plan to remove temporary closure status?
Make sure to include a plan to remove the temporary closure status when your business/organization is back up and running.
