• DESANTIS SIGNS PAIR OF EXECUTIVE ORDERS EXTENDING STATE'S EVICTION MORATORIUM AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT PUBLIC MEETINGS REQUIREMENTS WAIVER

    Governor DeSantis signed Executive Order 20-180, Limited Extension of Mortgage Foreclosure and Eviction Relief, yesterday to extend the state’s eviction and mortgage foreclosure moratorium until September 1. The original moratorium was put into effect on April 2 and the original executive order has been previously extended twice over the course of the pandemic. The current moratorium was set to expire on August 1. The Governor also signed Executive Order 20-179, Local Government Public Meetings, to extend the suspension of state requirements that local governmental bodies have a physical quorum for certain public meetings.
