    Key takeaways from the webinar:
    • On Florida's Day 283, daily average new cases of COVID-19 and weekly percent of positive cases are increasing since our first confirmed COVID-19 case. Florida currently sits at 8.67% of COVID-19 tests being positive. Please keep following Governor DeSantis' and Surgeon General Dr. Rivkees' guidelines to wear masks, practice physical distancing and avoiding large crowds. 
    • I delivered my President’s report as well as discussed Florida Chamber initiatives including the Florida Chamber Safety Council, Prosperity Initiative and the Chamber-driven letter to Florida’s Congressional Delegation requesting 501(c)(6) organizations which include chambers of commerce be included in the next round of COVID-19 relief.
    • Frank Walker, Vice President of Governmental Relations, reported on unfinished business still to be addressed by the Federal D.C. lame duck Congress as well as provided a 2021 Session preview.
    • Surgeon General Dr. Scott Rivkees discussed the most recent COVID-19 information, safety protocols as well as potential vaccine distribution plans for Florida.
    • Dr. Jerry Parish, Chief Economist of the Florida Chamber Foundation, reported that the unemployment rate is currently declining in Florida, and stands at 6.5%.
    • COVID-19 Vaccine implantation in Florida will begin as early as next week.
