    Main Street DeFuniak Springs, in partnership with BancorpSouth Bank, continue their Small Business Seminar Series with industry experts Florida SBDC at UWF.
     
    The seminar focused on "Disaster Planning & Recovery for Your Business", will begin at 8 AM on September 15 inside the Florida Chautauqua Theatre, located at 840 Baldwin Ave, Defuniak Springs, FL 32435.
     
    Business interruptions and disasters affect every business at some stage in its growth. Whether it's a hurricane, power outage, or road construction, disasters can strike at any time. There are key steps businesses can take today to reduce downtime and keep operations running if they are impacted. Join us to learn more about disaster preparedness tips and resources available to businesses both pre- and post-disaster!

In this workshop, we will talk about business concepts and find answers to many of your questions: Is there a need for your product or service? Can you make money with your business idea? Is this business compatible with your goals? What rules, laws and licenses apply to your business? Attendees will learn legal business structures, best management practices, funding options, basic marketing strategies. We will also talk about how to write a business plan and the importance of financial statements. In this three-hour workshop, we will take an in-depth view of your business concept and discuss the steps to a successful start. Is there a need for your product or service? Can you make money at it? Are you the right person to bring this to market? Is this business compatible with your personal goals? What rules, laws and licensing apply to your business? We will discuss funding options for your business, basic marketing strategies, legal business structures, taxation, and the nuts-and-bolts of launching your new venture.
