Before arriving at Pace, Krisztina wasn’t motivated to do schoolwork and was experiencing severe depression. Homeschooled and restricted from doing normal activities as a kid, she found herself depending on the wrong type of people as her support system. At just 15 years old, Krisztina ran away. Krisztina learned about Pace, a local GED program funded by UWWF, through the Department of Children and Families and successfully completed the program within a year. Through this experience, she has more self-confidence, strengthened her leadership abilities, and sharpened her public speaking skills. Since graduating from the GED program, Krisztina's life has been on an upward hill - improving her relationships with family and friends. She is currently enrolled at Pensacola State College pursuing her goals.

Just a couple of months ago, in the midst of an already tough year, our region was left with devasting damage due to Hurricane Sally. Despite the loss, we were overwhelmed by the generosity and unity shown by this community. More than $450,000 has been raised to help in the recovery!
