    Dear Community Partners,
    The Tobacco Free Santa Rosa Coalition (TFSRC) and Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT), with support from the Florida Department of Health’s Tobacco Prevention Program in Santa Rosa County, are working towards reducing the prevalence of tobacco use and expanding smoke-free environments. One way to do this is by educating the community and local leaders on the benefits of local policy change that will restrict smoking, vaping and other types of tobacco and nicotine use at local parks and beaches.
    A recent amendment to the Florida Clean Air Act (passed 6/24/2022) allows local governments to enact policies to restrict smoking in outdoor shared spaces such as public parks and beaches. The coalition is seeking local businesses, residents, and community leaders to join us as we work toward passing a Tobacco Free Public Spaces ordinance. The Tobacco Free Santa Rosa Coalition and SWAT will present at the City of Milton’s Executive Committee Meeting on January 3rd. We invite all community partners/stakeholders to attend if possible. Thank you!
